Another Ramadan activity this week saw a group of us heading out to Bounce Dubai, a new activity that opened up in June 2014 in Al Quoz, Dubai. Getting its start in Australia, Bounce is a workout while releasing your inner 5 year old, allowing you to jump on trampolines (picture your bed here!) for at least an hour. It’s been said that 10 minutes of jumping burns the same amount of calories as a 33 minute run – now if that’s not a motivator to give it a try then I don’t know what is!
We booked online which is a smooth and super easy process, and groups of 10 or more get a discount on the session cost. On arrival, hopefully dressed in very comfy clothes – gym clothes are quite a popular option – you don the funky socks that they give you, and off you go… BOUNCE!

There are various areas where you can bounce; Free jumping, which is a whack of trampolines all next to one another and you simply bounce around on them and between them; Dodgeball, which is exactly what it says – playing Dodgeball on trampolines 🙂 ; Big Bag, where you get to jump off trampolines and land on a super soft Big Bag; Performance jumping, which allows you to release your inner Olympic Champion and show off your talents of walking up walls; and finally MiniBounce which is for the real 5 year olds.
When we first walked in we headed to the Dodgeball area first to get our blood pumping, and get a feel for the trampolines. It was here that we started complaining, in a way, that there were too many people inside because you constantly had to queue for the trampolines in all the areas, and it felt like our time was being misused.
However, after we had a go in the Free jumping area we soon retracted our statements and very gladly welcomed the breaks in-between the jumps… it is hard work! But great fun hard work at the same time 🙂

It was excellent fun! We were all a little stiff the next day though… who would have thought that bouncing on trampolines would work so many muscles you don’t use very often?!
