Week 40 – Toko

It’s been a while since I’ve been on a ladies night out – and it’s been even longer since I saw some of the girls I used to work with 5 years ago! So when one of them, LM, put together a whatsapp group and invited us to get together for a night out, there was no way I was going to say no!

I was glad that the place chosen was somewhere I’d never been before because then I get to tick it off as my something new for the week… and so here you go 🙂

We ended up at Toko, located at Vida hotel Downtown. They have Wednesday night ladies night – it gets extremely busy in the bar area so definitely get there early!

Unlimited grape for ladies from 7pm – 11pm, and an extra bonus is that they are in the entertainer so food is buy-one-get-one on top of the free drinks. Winning!

We were a little let down by the service on the night – a couple of things seemed to go wrong for us. Might have just been an off night for us though as I doubt the place would be that busy all the time if their service was constantly off like that.
The food was exceptional which absolutely made up for it! We ordered a few platters and just shared them – a mix of lamb, beef and chicken. Exceptionally yummy!

Definitely a good option for Wednesday ladies night if you have entertainer as it keeps the cost down drastically – hopefully you don’t have an off night like we did if you go 😉

Week 31: Mahiki Madness

Looking for something new to do on a Thursday night?

Have a bunch of girls wanting to head out for some drinks and dancing?

Then head over to Mahiki, at Jumeirah Beach Hotel!

The latest addition to the famous Dubai Ladies’ Night inventory is hosted by Mahiki, and it is certainly one to wow – especially if you have guests visiting!

The ‘standard’ ladies night package is your basic idea of free-flowing drinks for the night –  you choose one of 2 selected beverages and have yourself a fine time 🙂

There is also a second option, which we’ve done, which is the super WOW factor! In order to take part in this option, you need to look for the offers on Facebook (or social media in general) and get in touch with the PR Manager who makes your table booking for you, and proceeds to look after you all night.

For this option, on arrival, you choose one of the selected beverages, the same as the standard ladies night, but you are then taken to your table to wait for your dinner. Yup. Get your grub on!

Dinner is brought to the table in ‘sharing platter’ form – an array of mini burgers, sushi, edamame, chicken wraps and french fries.

But the special deal does not stop there. I told you – this is the WOW Factor!

You are then brought a bottle of vodka, on ice, with mixers while you carry on enjoying the delicious food.

And then – the show stopper!

A large treasure chest – filled with a punch cocktail – is brought to the table with the most amazing fanfare. Lights, music, waiters. Go mad!

Treasure Chest!

And then you spend the night dancing away 🙂

Week 5 – Ruth’s Chris ladies night

(I must start this off with a huge apology – I was meant to post this on Thursday 4 Feb but I completely ran out of time, and then I was away for the weekend, but there will be more than that to come in this week 🙂 )

The Ladies Night culture is massive in Dubai – it started off with really only a Tuesday night on offer, and places would give ladies a few coupons (normally 3), to get free drinks with. After those coupons were used up it was either head home or pay full price for drinks.

From there most restaurants / pubs / bars etc. wanted to get in on the action and so ladies nights started being offered on every night of the week (I’ve been to Ladies Nights on Thursdays and Fridays!).

Most of the deals still leaned towards drinks vouchers on offer, but you now see more and more places offering unlimited drinks for ladies between certain times, and a few are now starting to offer meals at discounted prices.

And that’s where this post comes in – a bunch of us went to Ruth’s Chris’ Ladies Night which is a Wednesday. They offer ladies 4 free drinks from a selected menu, and then 50% discount on main menu items for food. This means steaks!

We each ordered a side dish which was all then shared around, and then our steaks made a full meal…. DELICIOUS! And what would a girls night out be if we didn’t enjoy some desserts afterwards?

We got the bread pudding, cheesecake and an apple tart thing, and we all tucked into them together.

So if you’re looking for a ladies night with a bit of difference, then I urge you to head on over to Ruth’s Chris in Dubai Marina Address Hotel – but make sure you call and book a few days in advance – the place gets chock-a-bock full!
