This past week has been a bit difficult to find something new that I’ve done to add to my list because I’ve been super sick and barely able to move 😥
This past Friday I started feeling a bit sniffy, with a bit of sneezing. I rested up and dosed myself up on Saturday (even cancelling the 16 km long run I had scheduled as my last long run before taper week) hoping it would go away, but when I woke up on Sunday I was awful!
The next 2 days were also spent on the couch… fever, nausea, sinuses blocked, no energy, coughing. YUCK! I do not wish this on anyone. And the worst part about it – it happened ONE week before the RAK Half Marathon… so I have decided to pull out. There is no way I’ll be able to run 21.1 km’s if I’m barely able to walk around the house at the moment. Pooey!
So, this week’s “something new” is the fact that I have had to actually pull myself out of a race and will have a big fat DNS next to my name for all eternity** on the interweb 😦
** There is a slight chance that someone may run in my number however since my timing chip is registered to me specifically I do not think that he will actually get timed on the course, and therefore my name will still show a DNS. Boo.
That bites! hope you feel better soon. I went through a bout like that myself and loaded up on garlic, vit C, hot pepper, and seaweed for inflammation and breathing. I hope you get back on your feet soon.

Thanks very much 🙂
I’m definitely on the mend and have even just signed up for another half marathon in March, yay me!
This flu-business stinks!

I’m sorry you’ve been so ill 😦
It must be a far reaching bug as I had a similar one a few weeks ago and you can’t have caught it from me 🙂
I hope you feel better and stronger soon.

Thankfully I am well on my way to recovery, and have just signed up for another half marathon in March to keep me motivated!
